The "Carte Routière et Vinicole Département de la Gironde" is a detailed map from 1876. It was designed as accompanying material for the publication "Bordeaux et ses Vins" and focuses primarily on the Bordeaux region in France, particularly the Gironde department.
The map is a masterfully engraved color lithograph by Regnier and Dourdet. The original used a scale of 1:183,000 to depict the region in detail. The visual composition of the map is characterized by vibrant, distinct colors that differentiate the various regions and features within the Gironde department. The careful color selection helps to distinguish different areas and land uses such as vineyards, roads, and other geographical features.
