This map, titled "Istanbul Anatolian side Kadiköy, Üsküdar," was created in 1918 by Necip Bey and is part of a series of maps depicting Istanbul in the late Ottoman period, just before World War I. The composite work measured 118 cm x 106 cm and was printed by the Hölzel Geographical Institute in Vienna.
The map focuses on the urban plan of Kadıköy, highlighting various important landmarks, streets, and transportation lines. Key features include public buildings and institutions: government buildings, schools, mosques, churches, and other important public buildings illustrate their significance to the cityscape. Tram and train lines are prominently displayed, showing the connectivity and transportation infrastructure of the time. Parks, gardens, and bodies of water are depicted in green and blue, emphasizing the natural landscape alongside urban development.
