The "Carta Generale di Asia" shows a general political overview of the entire Asian continent without ecclesiastical divisions. It ranges from Russia and Siberia in the north, across the Caspian Sea, Persia, and Arabia in the west, to China, Japan, and Southeast Asia in the east and southeast. India ("Hindostan"), Tibet, Afghanistan, and the Central Asian steppe and desert regions such as the Gobi are also meticulously depicted. The map is colored in delicate hues that distinguish various empires and regions, such as the "Impero Chinese," Persia, and the Ottoman Empire. Mountain ranges, river systems, and desert areas are finely delineated cartographically, while calligraphic inscriptions name the surrounding seas, including the "Oceano Glaciale Artico" in the north and the "Mare dell'Indie" in the south. Japan and Korea are also recognizable on the east coast. The map thus shows the Central and East Asian regions in their full geographical extent.
