This is a very detailed French sea chart of the Shetland Islands from 1804. The map is a black and white copper engraving and shows the island group with its numerous bays, sounds, and smaller islands. As a nautical chart, it also includes typical rhumb lines radiating from a central point. Longitude: The longitude values refer to the Paris Meridian, which was customary for French maps of that period.
